Europe's New Craze Comes to Washington

After great popularity in Europe, painted wallcoverings have come to America - thanks to four companies who are leading the way. These companies manufacture wallcover that, after being applied to the wall, is designed to be painted.

This product is proving versatile in its decorated uses. For instance, one company produces a textured wallcovering, suitable for wall and ceiling finishes that create a random, stucco-like texture in five grades - flat, fine, medium, super and coarse. These different textures enhance a variety of decorating schemes. For example, a coarse texture could accent a colonial or country setting, whereas a finer texture could be used to define a contemporary look.

The paper is applied like wallpaper, using a heavy vinyl paste, except there's no pattern to match! The sams become invisible after painting. You can even repaint it many times in the same or different colors. Remember too, this is a great way to cover up wall or ceiling imperfections such as cracked plaster or layers of old wallpaper.

This innovating treatment can be used with virtually any style and I believe it will be a s popular here as it has been in Europe.
